Cars On Track Now!

They are taunting me. I can hear cars on track right now in St. Petersburg. Word on the street is that you can just walk on in today as the paddock is getting set and watch whatever is out doing practice runs. But I’m not able to head down there. Too much to do to prepare for spending the next three days down there.

But I can hear them. They are right down the street. Cars on track. Right now. It is, though, a beautiful sound to have resonating through your neighborhood. Tomorrow can’t come soon enough.

Thursday = media day

You hear joyrides for journalists and photojournalists ... and perhaps the mayor, city councilmen, county commissioners, $pon$ors such as race sponsor Firestone ...

Yeah, but for a while, several whiles, there was a whole gaggle of cars out at once. Sounded like maybe the USF2000 swarm of bees. I know some folks that walked in last year and just hung around the paddock and talked to drivers and other team folk. I just don’t have the time today to venture over, busy cleaning up the house to prepare to be gone for the better part of three days. Good times.

It looks like USF2000 did a test last weekend, but I wouldn't be surprised if they let them loose on the streets today to get some rubber down on our public roads. Be a shame if the big boys all crashed out in their first practice. Actually, it would be hilarious.
